Trouble Shooting Basic Problems in Solar Heating Controllers
from: Forsgrens
Solar power is the most efficient source of energy. Aside from the limitless energy source, it lessens accountability and energy obligation on the part of the owner. No one will be coming to your home and ask for a payment on your energy consumption. All you need is the equipments to purchase to make it work.
Mostly of the homes in the countryside are powered by solar energy. Several states constantly support the movement on solar energy free obligation. Some states ask for a tax on certain products. However, in California, property tax for a solar instrument is not collected.
Solar heating controllers, be it for a pool or home water heating mechanism, are mostly digital and high end. These solar heating controllers function electronically. The shutting and opening of circuits, the modulation of the water flow, the heating and the cooling of the water, the distribution, etc. take place through electronic means. All these can be done by your solar heating system without manual manipulation and monitoring.
Solar heating controllers are primarily powered by solar energy. Solar energy is kept in a battery to consummate it properly. A solar power system is composed of the solar collector panel, the solar cells, and the battery. Your solar heating system is connected directly and sometimes indirectly to the battery. There are instances that when a solar collector can hold higher energy, the circuit is diverted directly to other electrical systems without passing any storage device.
The complexity of the systems that is involved in solar energy generation is one main reason for a heating controlling device to bar down. Of course, destruction due to old age and misuse is never dismissible. All possible breakage in your controlling device has causes and has proper procedure in fixing.
Here are some indications of a dysfunctional solar heating controller, the corresponding causes and the trouble shooting tips:
• When the device does not automatically shuts or opens the power of the system and shifts into manual mode, there are four major possible causes affecting it. Those are :
1) the temperature sensor is not functioning properly,
2) the control itself is defective,
3) the sensor has loose wiring or short circuit,
4) the sensor is not properly place into the system.
The immediate troubleshooting methods of the following malfunctions are:
1) replacing the sensor that is not functioning properly,
2) substitute a good kind and functioning control
3) mend the wires or if it needs replacement change the wires with ones that have no defects,
4) mend the sensors properly and place it properly the system.
• When the pumps would run and then after a while shuts off the problem maybe caused by poor or ineffective sensors or the sensors are not properly put into place. The surest way to mend this problem, just check the sensors and if it needs to be replaced by a new one then do so.
• When the pump goes on and off within a period the problem may be caused by thermosyphoning. Check the valve and replace it with a new one when the situation requires.
These are just some of the problems you may encounter from your solar heating controller. Applying the troubleshooting tips by yourself may save you some bucks supposedly to be paid to the technicians. The payment you are supposed to pay for may be used to buy replacements to any defective parts in your system.
However, troubleshooting is like a first aid. There is no better solution for any breakage in your solar heating controller than that offered by professional technicians. Make sure they are not overlooked.
