Solar Heating and its Benefits

from: Forsgrens

With the rising cost of fuels used for heating such as gas or coal. People have been finding ways to heat their homes. One of the best ways that people invented is by harnessing the sun’s energy through the use of solar panels.

The sun produces a lot of energy, however, solar panel systems in the past have been known to be inefficient and needs a lot of solar panels in order to heat water or generate electricity.

You might think that solar panels are only associated with electricity when you hear about it. However, solar panels can also be used to heat your home and also water. Recent advancement in technology made solar panels more efficient in collecting and storing electricity and can now generate enough energy to heat water in homes and pools.

There are many types of solar heating systems but the most commonly used system is by using temperature differential strategy. This works by having two sensors where one is located close to the panels and the other is located on or close to the liquid return valve into the panel system. In simpler terms, one of the sensors measures the liquid temperature leaving the panel and the other measures the liquid temperature that is coming into the panel.

For more explanation, the process is achieved by letting the temperature of the liquid to rise until it reaches the temperature set by you. Once the liquid reaches the temperature you set, a pump is automatically turned on by a computer to move the liquid to a specific location in the house like the shower or the sink. Then, once the returning water is within a particular range of the liquid in the panel system, the pump is automatically shut off by the computer.

Temperature control in any heating system is very important to ensure the efficiency of it and is particularly important in solar heating systems. By regulating temperature, you can reduce the pump abuse resulting in a breakdown and water temperature increases much quicker.

This type of system is especially useful to cut down electric bills, electric heating bill and even gas bill. By using this system, you can be sure that you will be able to cut down on expenses and you can also help the environment by not using fuel that produces heat but also produces pollution.

You can also use solar energy to heat your home. However, most people don’t know that heating your home using solar energy can be done without the use of panels. This means you can save a lot of money by not buying expensive solar equipments such as solar panels and installing them in your home.

You might wonder how this is possible without using solar panels. This is done by using the concept known as gain. This is a cheap way to heat your home and is very efficient. This concept is the same as a car left out in the sun with the windows rolled up. When you enter the car, you will experience a blast of heat coming out of the vehicle. This same concept can be used to heat your home without the use of solar panels. This will depend on how you build your home such as where the windows are installed or the masonry.

Solar technology is one of the leading alternatives in heating and electricity. Getting one can save you a lot in electric bills, in gas bills and in heating bills. And, another benefit of using solar heating technology is that it is cleaner and doesn’t use up the limited supply of fossil fuels.
